A Raycast Snippets alternative for AI prompts
Raycast is a launcher for Mac, Windows and iOS. Its Snippets come with the free plan: type a keyword in any app and it becomes the full text, or search your snippets and paste one. Snippets can hold placeholders such as the clipboard, the selected text and the date. Syncing between devices needs a paid plan, starting with Pro at $10 a month, and Raycast AI is not in the free plan (checked on raycast.com on September 14, 2026).
Where Prompt Petal is different
- A button, not a keyword. Your prompts open in a ring around a small flower, in the same place every time. Click, pick a petal, done.
- Your selection goes in by itself. Select text, pick Rewrite, and the prompt lands with your words in it.
- Buttons that do things. A petal can open a link or an app, run a Shortcut, or ask AI with your own key, so you never pay for a second AI plan.
- Phones and watches. A prompt keyboard on iPhone, iPad and Android, and Apple Watch and Wear OS send a prompt to your phone.
- Inside your AI apps. Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code and Codex can use your prompts over MCP.
When Raycast is the better fit
If you already run your day from a launcher and want snippets beside window management, clipboard history and extensions, Raycast keeps it all in one place.
