Run slash commands like /review from a petal
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Slack all have slash commands. You type a slash and a menu of commands opens. The menu opens only on a real keystroke, so a pasted /review lands as plain text and nothing happens.
What a slash menu listens for
Normal petals insert text by pasting it. Pasting is fast and works in nearly every app. Slash menus listen for the keys you press. A paste arrives as one block of text, so the menu stays closed and the command sits there as words.
Type instead of paste
Pro adds an option on each petal called Type instead of paste. With it on, Prompt Petal types the words key by key, exactly as you would. The slash menu sees the keystrokes, opens, and the command fires.
Use it for short commands such as /review, /summarize or /clear. Longer prompts are better as normal petals.
Set it up in the petal editor
- Open the petal editor and create a new petal, or open one you already have.
- Name the petal, for example Review.
- In the prompt field, type the command, for example /review.
- Switch on Type instead of paste.
- Switch on Press Return after it goes in if you want the command sent straight away.
- Save the petal.
Press Return after it goes in
Press Return after it goes in presses the Return key once the typing finishes, which sends the command. Leave it off when you want to add a few words after the command, such as a file name, before sending.
Try it
Click into the chat box of your AI app, open your flower and click the Review petal. The words appear, the command runs and your hands never leave the mouse. Pair a few of these petals with your regular prompts and the whole workflow sits in one flower.
Type instead of paste is a Pro feature. Free petals paste, which suits full prompts in every chat app.
Which apps need it
Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Slack all open a slash menu from a typed slash. If a command pastes in as plain text in one of those apps, switch on Type instead of paste for that petal and try again.
Each petal has its own switch, so your full prompts can keep pasting while your command petals type. A single flower can hold both kinds.
A few commands worth saving
A review command for checking your latest changes. A summarize command for a long thread. A clear command that starts fresh. Each one saves a little typing, and over a week the savings add up. Group them under one petal with Pro groups so your flower stays tidy.
Before you rely on it
Click into the chat box first so the keystrokes land in the right place. Prompt Petal types into the app you were in, wherever your cursor already is. Test a new command petal once in a scratch chat, then use it everywhere. Type instead of paste is part of Pro, and the pricing page lists everything else that comes with it.
