A TypingMind alternative
TypingMind is a chat app for AI models that runs on your own API keys. It is sold as a one-time license, with Standard at $39 and Extended at $79, and you pay each AI company for what you use. Its prompt library comes with the paid license (checked on typingmind.com and its FAQ on October 19, 2026).

Where Prompt Petal is different
- Every device you type on. Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android, with Apple Watch and Wear OS, all from one account.
- Any app. Select text, pick a petal, and the prompt lands with your selection in it, in a chat, a document or an email.
- Buttons that do things. A petal can open a link, open an app, run a Shortcut, or ask AI with your own key.
- MCP too. Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code and Codex can use, save and change your prompts.
When TypingMind is the better fit
If you want one chat window for many AI models and you already pay for API keys, TypingMind is built for that.
