How to turn on Prompt Petal for iPhone
Prompt Petal puts your saved AI prompts on a keyboard. In ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Messages or Notes you switch to it, tap a petal, and the whole prompt is typed where your cursor is. Setting it up takes about a minute.
1. Install and open Prompt Petal
Get Prompt Petal from the App Store and open it. The welcome pages let you pick a flower, try a petal on a sample note, and see what Pro adds. Five starter prompts are ready to use.
2. Turn on the keyboard
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to General, Keyboard, Keyboards.
- Tap Add New Keyboard and choose Prompt Petal.
Leave Allow Full Access off. The keyboard types your prompts with it off.
3. Tap a petal in any app
- Tap into any text box, for example a new chat in ChatGPT or Claude.
- Hold the globe key and choose Prompt Petal.
- Tap a petal. Its prompt goes in at the cursor. Undo takes it back out.
4. Make the prompts your own
In the app, tap a prompt to rename it or change its words, or tap Add a Prompt. Free holds five. Pro holds as many as you like, adds groups, Recent and the Enter key, and syncs them to your other devices.
5. Ask AI from the keyboard
With Pro, turn on Ask AI in a prompt's editor. Tapping that petal sends the prompt to AI and types the answer where you are typing. With Apple Intelligence on, the answer comes from your iPhone itself. You can also add your own key for Claude, Gemini or OpenAI in Settings, AI. More on Ask AI.
